From Boba To Ghenie

Romania and China were directly influenced by the Soviet Union in the latter half of the twentieth Century.But the visual tradition of modern and contemporary Romanian painting still has three characteristics: first,the revolutionary realism;second,the national romanticism;third,the modernity of expressionism.These three characteristics show progressive relationship in primary and secondary and linear logic.Under the influence of the Soviet Union,the new Chinese oil painting practices the method of socialist realism simplification,which has four characteristics: authenticity,typicality,socialism and romanticism.New Chinese oil painting introduced Cheskakov's sketch system and exterior color system in realism,and learned Soviet plot painting and monumental painting in creative form.The “Boba class” in the 60 s of the last century opened the way for the fine arts exchange between China and Romania.There are three main academic values brought about by Boba in the overall Soviet environment: first,a breakthrough in expressiveness;second,respect for Chinese characteristics;third,emphasis on individualization.Boba's artistic influence in the contemporary historical environment can only be regarded as an episode,but his academic viewpoint,aesthetic experience and educational concept contain the spirit of modernity,which preserves the spark for the rebirth of Chinese art pluralism,and enables us to see that the context of modernity does not stop flowing,but lurks and continues in the crack.Today,we are free,open and inclusive.Chinese artists are more proactive in communicating with the world according to individual needs.Based on a similar background,Romanian artists still bring us some experience and nourishment,Ghenie is one of the representatives.Through fragmented historical themes,dramatic visual atmosphere and absurd scenes,Ghenie creates a multi-dimensional landscape world forthe audience.In the painting language,the artist uses magic color tension,Bacon's erosive image and nightmare texture to create a huge visual appeal.His interesting pictures and the way of expression with Chinese artists Jia Aili and Wei Jia reflect the aesthetic orientation of artists of the two countries at the same time.These two historical stages are not separated,Romanian painting in China has experienced the influence from the edge to the popular change.Therefore,the comparison between Romania painting and Chinese oil painting can be systematic.My personal creative practice has also been influenced by new paintings in Romania.Out of the educational background of the Institute and the exploration of the concrete expressive language of oil painting,I try to express some poetic,mottled and romantic images of everyday life from the individual perception and current experience,and I hope to create a kind of implicit,exiled,and infected texture in the painting language,so as to obtain a kind of and reality.The alienation.
