A Report On The Simulated Interpreting Of Ma Huateng’s Speech In 2018 China “Internet Plus” Digital Economy Summit

2018 China “Internet Plus” & Digital Economy Summit is held in Chongqing from April 12 th to 13 th in 2018.Ma Huateng,Tencent Chairman,delivers a keynote speech.This thesis is a report on simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpreting based on Ma Huateng’s speech.The author analyses problems in the process of consecutive interpreting and researches how to apply translation strategies to the interpreting practice with the help of the interpretive theory in the report.This report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the task description.The author introduces the background,materials and significance of this task.The second chapter is the task process,including translation preparation,interpretation process and translation summary.The third chapter is the interpretive theory.The author expounds its concepts,three stages of the translation process and its guidance on translation techniques.The fourth chapter is the analysis of case.The author analyzes problems in the interpreting practice on lexicon and syntax levels,then the author uses concrete cases to explain how to apply amplification,omission,inversion and conversion to the interpreting practice under the guidance of the interpretive theory.The fifth chapter is the summary including what the author gets,what problems the author has and what the author learns from the practice.The author hopes what the report contains will bring enlightment to interpretation.
