| This report is based on the practice of simulated simultaneous interpreting in the4 th World Education Frontiers Summit.Under the guidance of interpretive theory,this report analyzes the difficulties encountered by the author at the lexical,syntactic and discoursal levels caused by speaker’s accent and terminologies,groups of numbers and long sentences,as well as redundancy and fast speech respectively;it also analyzes corresponding countermeasures,namely,flexibly adopting the interpreting techniques of paraphrasing,omission,repetition,note-taking,syntactic linearity,anticipation,reduction and summarization.This report illustrates that upholding the principle of deverbalization and centering on the communicative purpose under the guidance of interpretive theory can help interpreters flexibly and effectively choose appropriate techniques of simultaneous interpreting to cope with different challenges ensuing from performing interpreting tasks,contributing to greater faithfulness and fluency of the interpreting.Through this report,the author hopes to identify her own shortcomings in interpreting ability and achieve an overall improvement,and meanwhile provide some reference for other interpreting learners. |
