Research On The Present Situation Of Social Support For Psychological Counselors

With the rapid development of social economy,the pace of people's life quickened,psychological pressure and mental confusion are increasing,which highlights the importance of social support to people.Although psychological counselors are restorers of human mind,they also need various social relationships to give them support and help.This is also an external guarantee for the career development of psychological counselors.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the social support of psychological counselors.The main purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of social support of psychological counselors,and to analyze the differences in demographic variables of their social support,and then put forward some thoughts on improving the social support of psychological counselors on this basis.In this study,the Comprehension Social Support Scale was used as a survey tool,and 407 psychological counselors were randomly selected for investigation.The results of the study showed that:(1)The overall score of social support of psychological counselors was 62.536±10.549;(2)There are significant differences of psychological counselors in different genders in social support scores,friend support and other support;(3)There are significant differences in the family support dimension between the unmarried psychological counselors and the married psychological counselors;(4)There are significant differences of social support in other support dimensions between the full-time psychological counselors and the part-time psychological counselors;(5)There are significant differences in the social support scores,friend support and other support dimensions between paid and free psychological counselors;(6)There are no significant differences of the social support of psychological counselors in age;(7)There are extremely significant differences of psychological counselors in different income levels in social support scores and friend support;(8)There are significant differences of psychological counselors with different working years in social support scores,family support,friend support and other support dimensions;(9)There are no significant differences of psychological counselors with different professional backgrounds in social support scores,and there are significant differences in family support and other support dimensions;(10)There are significant differences of psychological counselors with different consulting tendency in social support scores,family support and other support dimensions.Research conclusions: The overall level of social support of psychological counselors is relatively high;The social support of female psychological counselors is higher than that of male psychological counselors;The social support of married psychological counselors is higher than that of unmarried psychological counselors;The social support of full-time psychological counselors is higher than that of the part-time psychological counselors;The social support of the paid psychological counselors is higher than that of the free psychological counselors;The higher the income level of the psychological counselors,the higher their social support;The level of social support of psychological counselors increases with the increase of working years;Cognitive behaviorism-oriented psychological counselors have a higher overall level of social support than other orientations.
