With the deepening of the process of opening up to the outside world,China has become an important engine for driving global economic growth.China actively participates in international communication and dedicates to knowing each other about the international situation so as to truly form a new situation in which China and the West are mutually beneficial. The speech "Understanding the Rise of China",given by British scholar Martin Jacques, gives brief account of the rise of China in many ways in recent years. This report is a summary of the simulating interpretation practice of the speech.Based on the Translation Variation Theory proposed by Professor Huang Zhonglian, the author explores the application of the Translation Variation Theory to simultaneous interpretation, aiming at solving the problems including omission, mistranslation, dead translation and redundant interpretation caused by different Chinese and Western cultures.By using specific strategies, the interpretation process can be more natural and smoother, thus improving the accuracy as well.It is hoped that the interpreting practice can provide some revelation for further study and other interpreters’ practices.
