| Indonesia has the largest number of HSK test sites in Asia apart from China,and the number of people taking HSK test is increasing year by year.In 2016,the Ministry of Education of Indonesia issued that all universities that offer Chinese language education must improve their ability to run schools and the quality of teaching.If students fail to obtain HSK Level 4 certificates before graduation,they will not acquire the graduation certificates.In order to improve students’ Chinese proficiency and HSK test pass rate,the Chinese Department of Surabaya National University in Indonesia has specially established HSK Counseling Course.Based on the author’s teaching practice,this paper makes a comprehensive investigation of the development of the tutorial course.It finds that there are many problems,such as low level of understanding of HSK,low enthusiasm for taking the exam,irregular curriculum management,and insufficient teacher counseling experience.This paper puts forward some suggestions for improvement,in order to contribute to the teaching of HSK tutoring in the Chinese Department of Surabaya National University and the promotion of HSK.There are six chapters in this paper:The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research background and significance,summarizes the development of HSK and the process of overseas promotion,and elaborates the research content and research methods.The second chapter introduces the development history and school environment of the Chinese Department of Surabaya National University.It then explains the background of the HSK tutorial and the current status of the tutorial.The third chapter carries out questionnaires and interviews for students and teachers of Chinese Department respectively.It analyses the specific problems existing in the process of HSK tutoring through sorting out the data.The fourth chapter concludes that the main problems in the teaching management department,students and teachers in the process of HSK tutoring and then points out that the more prominent problems are students’ lack of understanding of HSK and little enthusiasm for exams.The chapter conducts in-depth research on this issue and points out the shortcomings of HSK promotion work in Surabaya.The fifth chapter puts forward some targeted suggestions from the perspectives of curriculum managers,teachers,students,and Chinese education coordinating institutions,aiming at solving the problems existing in the development of HSK tutoring course and the promotion of HSK.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,including a summary of the survey results and reflection on the research deficiencies. |
