During the development process of education,in the economically underdeveloped areas in China,especially in rural areas,the loss rate of teachers has been high for a long time,which results from a lot of factors,during which excessive teachers’career burnout is an important incentive.In terms of the primary school English teaching,primary school English teachers in the urban and rural areas have a certain degree of burnout.However,there are differences in the degree of burnout due to environmental differences.This paper focuses on the English teachers’ burnout in the four primary schools in Suizhou City,Hubei Province.In this paper,the method of document analysis is first used to analyze the research results and existing data related to teachers’ career burnout.Then,through the method of the questionnaire survey and interview,the English teachers of the four rural primary schools in Suizhou City were investigated and the first-hand materials needed for the research were obtained.Finally,the reasons for the career burnout of Suizhou primary school English teachers were analyzed and targeted solutions were proposed through the document analysis and the research data.Combined with the relevant document and the author’s research,the following points are drawn:First,the phenomenon of primary school English teacher’s career burnout widely exist according to the relevant investigations and facts,which is not only unfavorable to teachers’ physical and mental development,but also affects the all-round development of primary school students,causing the adverse effects to the education and teaching,and bringing a series of negative effects to the overall school teaching level.These impacts are summarized as:Firstly,primary school English teacher’s career burnout is not conducive to the physical and mental development of teachers,as well as the realization of educational and teaching effects,which is harmful to the physical and mental growth of students and the overall improvement of the school’s teaching level.Secondly,the primary school English teachers’ career burnout mainly comes from five aspects:society,incentives,performance appraisal,school and the teacher herself(himself).Thirdly,the countermeasures to prevent and resolve the career burnout problem of the four primary school English teachers in Suizhou City are as follows:Optimizing the social supporting environment,including strengthening the social style of respecting teachers and teaching,enhancing the top-level design and the policy management,and reinforcing home-school communication to improve parents’understanding of the school;Constructing an incentive system for primary school English teachers based on the total compensation,including constructing a reasonable material compensation and welfare incentive system,strengthening spiritual incentives,and improving career development incentives;Improving the performance appraisal of primary school English teachers,including optimizing performance appraisal methods,strengthening the performance appraisal implement,and improving the performance feedback and appealing system;Optimizing the school supporting environment,including the establishment of a sound teachers’ growth mechanism,the improvement of the teachers’ stress management mechanism and the building of the school-teaching environment surrounded by the understanding and support;Strengthening the self-cultivation,specifically including the correct understanding of the role as a primary school English teacher,improving the self-processing ability of stress,and strengthening the professional learning and teaching skills.At last,the whole paper is summarized. |
