In the 1940 s,the writers of Potato School stepped into the literary world and wrote a number of novels which were regarded as literary classics. In addition to novels, they were also involved in the field of film creation, and wrote a series of influential film scripts, such as "Pastoral from North Shaanxi","The Flame that can not be put out","Youth in Our Village","The New Secretary of the County Committee "(that is,"Tear-Stain"),"Our Veterans",etc. This paper takes the film scripts of Potato School as the research object, and integrates the literary concept, film characteristics, film texts, relevant historical materials and other aspects, combines the internal research and external research, tries to comprehensively examine the characteristics of “mobilization/youth” shown in the film scripts of Potato School.Chapter One mainly focuses on the research of “mobilization” and is divided into three parts.First of all,in the process of birth and dissemination, the film has the characteristics of being popular, extensive, and fast, which is in line with the demands of mobilization, therefore the film has the possibility of becoming a mobilization method.Secondly, the mobilization in the creation of Potato School did not start from the film. Therefore, when discussing the issue of "the emergence of mobilization",it is needed to return to the "Speech at the Yanan Forum on Literature and Art",which has an important influence on the formation of the literary concept. Finally, the relationship between mobilization and the common “great reunion” ending is seen in the film scripts of Potato School.Chapter Two takes youth as the main entry point.According to the "time told by the story",the film scripts of Potato School can be divided into revolutionary historical works and socialist construction works. On the basis of this classification, this chapter begins with the following three aspects to discuss the film scripts of Potato School:First, the creative characteristics of young writers in the writing of revolutionary history, and the expression of the legitimacy of the regime revolutionary youth in the works of revolutionary history.Second, themodelling behavior of youth in the works of socialist construction and the image of youth in 1949-1966 and the "centralism" of authors in the new era.Third,as a common element throughout all the plays of the Potato School, the youth's "love-marriage" is no longer an individual private emotion but has a public attribute when it becomes a politically relevant narrative.Chapter Three puts "Potato School" into the history of literature, the history of the development of the genre itself, and the framework of the Shanxi film, investigates Potato School respectively in three aspects: the dislocation of the literary history statement, the difference between the creation of the first-generation and second-generation writers, the status of Potato School in Shanxi movies, and tries to comprehend these film scripts from a more macro perspective.
