Brahms was the greatest musician in Germany during the romantic period.At the same time,he was a composer who was very rigorous in the creation of music and followed the classical music structure.In his lifetime,he created a large number of piano music works in different genres,including piano trio,variations,ballade and concerto."Fantasia op.116" is a piano work composed in his later years,including three caprices and four interludes.By this time Brahms,who had lost his sister and close friend,had written the seven pieces with sadness and named the work with these themes linked "fantasia."In the research process of Brahms' s fantasia op.116,this paper is divided into three parts.The first part elaborates the creation background and the creation characteristic.The second part takes some excerpts from Op.116 as an example to analyze specific works.The third part focuses on the technical problems that may be encountered in performance,and takes typical sections as examples to analyze the performance techniques.Through specific research and analysis,improve the level of performance and appreciation.
