A Report On E-C Translation Of The Silk Road Economic Belt(Excerpt)

As one of the most important national strategies of the new era,the Silk Road Economic Belt also plays a vital role in the development of the world economy.The Silk Road Economic Belt has important strategic significances that it will help promote the Eurasian infrastructural development,connectivity and economic cooperation,and it has the potential to become a leading model of multilateral and bilateral cooperation in Eurasia.Meanwhile,in some countries(such as Pakistan,India,Afghanistan and Russia and so on)and regions(such as Central Asia and South Asia)which has the close cooperation with China,the construction of the belt may also interact with the dynamic development of regional security.Under the guidance of Eugene A.Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory,the translator translates and analyzes the second section of The Silk Road Economic Belt:Considering security implications and EU-China cooperation prospects.This report is composed of four chapters.Chapter one is the task description,which mainly introduces the source of the source text,features of the source text,the background knowledge,and objectives and significance of the task.Chapter two describes the translation process,which includes preparations before translation,time arrangement,and quality control.Chapter three is the case analysis,which mainly elaborating the difficulties of political text translation and the translation strategies of lexical,syntactic and discoursal level.Chapter four makes a conclusion of the experience and reflection of translation as well as the unsolved problems.Based on the research of the political text translation,this report expands the application field of the Functional Equivalence Theory and enriches the translation strategies and techniques of political text,which provides a reference for future translation practice of the same kind of texts.At the same time,the report will provide some valuable information and references for the domestic research on the dynamic interaction between the Silk Road Economic Belt and the regional security.
