Research On The Diminutive Marking System Of Anyang County Dialect

A diminutive is a grammatical device by which a word can be modified to convey the meaning of small,lovely or intimate,and it is a grammatical phenomenon that is ubiquitous in human language.The diminutives are more universal in Chinese,especially in Chinese dialects.The Dialect of Anyang County belongs to the Huo-Ji Dialects that is a branch of Han-Xin Dialects,one of the eight divisions of Jin Dialects.This paper takes Anyang County Dialect as the research object,and we will explore,sort out and summarize its diminutive marking system.The forms of diminutive in Anyang County dialect mainly include the suffix “儿”and“子”,the prefix “圪”,reduplication and so on.This paper is in the hope of constructing a relatively complete diminutive marking system in Anyang County Dialect by describing several kinds of diminutive forms in detail and comparing the usage of different forms.The paper is divided into five parts:Introduction.The introduction part mainly introduces the reason,purpose and significance of this study,the research trends of diminutive at home and abroad,as well as the research methods and corpus sources of this paper.Chapter One——Relevant Issues of Diminutive.This chapter mainly elaborates on the definition,origin,basic forms and function of the diminutive.Chapter Two——An Overview of the Diminutive of Anyang County Dialect.This chapter will summarizes the characteristics of Anyang County Dialect based on the geographical location and historical factors of Anyang County,and explain the general situation of diminutive in Anyang County Dialect according to the macro-cognition of the concept,forms and function of the diminutive.Chapter Three——The Diminutive Markers of Anyang County Dialect.This chapter is the major part of this paper,focusing on the expression forms,grammatical and pragmatic functions to make a analysis and description of the suffix “儿”and“子”,prefix “圪” and reduplication in Anyang County Dialect.Conclusion.This part makes a summary discussion on the viewpoints of this paper,and combines social and network factors to introduce the weakening and updating of the diminutive in Anyang County Dialect in the process of development.At the same time,it makes a self-evaluation of the research and points out the shortcomings of the paper in the end.
