Social memory,as the sum of the social experience of all members of the large group,has continuity and forms different memory constructions in different contexts.The object of this paper is educational documentaries which are based on educational topics.Education makes it possible to inherit all the paradigms of theory,experience and practice,including the sum of social experience.And education also has continuity.In fact,education plays the role of dissemination,selection and creation in cultural inheritance,which coincides with the characteristics of social memory.The content of documentaries is based on non-fiction,so it is an important medium of social memory.Therefore,educational documentaries are excellent carriers to study the construction of social memory.From the perspective of memory and relying on the method of text research,this paper explores the educational documentary,links the presentation of images with memory constructions,and analyzes the relationship between them.Firstly,this paper discusses the authenticity of educational record images,and analyzes how to construct the memory of the details in the images from the angle of detail expression to reflect the authenticity.From the perspective of memory symbols and narrative presentation,this paper also analyzes the memory function of image codes in narrative and the memory category of different group objects embodied in different narrative categories.On the basis of the above studies,the expression boundaries of recorded images in memory constructions are summarized.Finally,the paper examines the interaction between educational images and memory constructions,and expects that the social memory carried by educational images can cover more areas and have greater influence.
