Character documentary,as an image form that conveys national image and social value,aims at telling the story of the characters,and through non-fictional film and television performance techniques,directly selects the film "material" from real life,that is,it strives to "relive" life The original appearance.On the one hand,the character documentary aimed the camera at various people in life,and presented the living conditions and inner world of the characters with video documentary.Its innate human charm made it a unique feature in all kinds of films in China Landscape;on the other hand,Looking at the present,youth entrepreneurship has been a hot spot in society since the policy of encouraging college students to start their own businesses was clearly put forward.Among these young entrepreneurs,the "post-90s" group has attracted much public attention.It can be seen that the research and recording of the individual models among them has important time value for reflecting social reality and recording the entrepreneurial process.As a relatively independent symbol system,the creation and expression of a person documentary is the symbolic process of image presentation.Through a series of symbols,it not only brings charm beyond the documentary to the film,but also generates psychological identity between the audience and the image symbol.Thereby deepening the meaning of the documentary.Based on this,this study relies on semiotics-related theories and systematically analyzes the image presentation of character documentaries in combination with graduation works,and explores the symbolic construction behind the images in order to bring better development space for similar documentaries.This article takes the theory of semiotics as the academic framework,and at the same time is guided by documentary aesthetics,combined with the author 's own graduation experience,interprets the documentary presentation and symbolization of the character documentary,and uses the theoretical thoughts of mythology,The meaning and value of symbols are analyzed.Generally speaking,this article is divided into four aspects: Chapter One is the introduction,It explains the background and significance of the topic,the research status and research methods,and generally discusses the feasibility of this research;Inchapter two,the author uses Metz's "first film semiotics" related theory,combined with the theory of documentary aesthetics in film and television aesthetics,to make specific use of the symbols in the video text of my graduation work,the character documentary "The Creator" Analyze the performance and function of visual symbols,auditory symbols,and language symbols.This section aims to analyze the image presentation at the "signifier" level of the film;in Chapter 3,the author draws on the relevant theories in Metz's "Second Film Semiotics" and Lacan's psychoanalytic "Three Realms" theory,Further analysis of the "phenomenal world","imagination world" and "symbol world" of the film,that is,the "referential" level of the film.In the fourth chapter,the author uses Roland Barthes' "myth" theory to elaborate on the symbolic meaning of the character documentary.Through the lens of semiology,he explores the multiple levels of its meaning and "de-enchants" the "referred" level.,And then summarize the value of character documentary symbol construction.In the final conclusion,this study bases the character documentary on the background of the times.Based on the current social and cultural context of media fusion,the author has made a development prospect of the character documentary image presentation and symbol construction in the perspective of media integration.
