Inspired by Ronfield's theory of "art education therapy",this study explores the effectiveness of therapeutically-oriented art enducation activities to a separation anxiety child.This study employs single case study research methods.Before the art activities,the researcher used series ways to screen out the subject of this study,who was a 5 years old boy.This study includs 14 therapeutically-oriented art enducation sessions once or twice a week,and each session last about 40 minutes.Data was collected through out the sessions via video and photography,and analyzed for verbal descriptions,non-verbal expression,and interaction with researcher.The researchers continued to visit the subject's parents and teachers to track the maintenance of the session in the two weeks following.This study based on the diagnostic criteria of separation anxiety in CCMD-3 to develop an interview outline,used the "Tree Test","Preschool Anxiety Scal" and the "Child Behavior Checklist" as the research tools to explore the impact of therapeutically-oriented art enducation activities on children.Based on the results of the study,the findings were shown as follows:1.The researcher analyzes the behavioral performances and art works of the 14 art activities,and finds that the therapeutically-oriented art enducation activities can cause changes in the painting projections of child with separation anxiety,it can help him to rationally vent and express separatist anxiety,introduce their chaotic and disorderly state into a clear and orderly state either,and thus alleviate the problem of case separation anxiety.2.The "Tree Test" results showed that the content of the subject's picture and the characteristics of the formal elements were improved to varying degrees,and the subject was projected.The anxiety of the child is slowly resolved,and the trust and inclusiveness of the family have improved.The subject begun to open his hearts,accept the warmth of the outside world,compensate for the internal trauma,and have full expectations for a good family relationship.3,Interview results and scal's measurement results show that the subject's separation anxiety disorder is improved to a certain extent.Therapeutically-oriented art enducation activities can help us understand the inner anxiety and contradictions of the child,and explore the deep motivations that lead to children's separation anxiety,and help the child to relieve the separation anxiety,and get a positive personal growth either.
