Twelve Towers is a novel written by Li Yu,a novelist from late Ming dynasty to early Qing dynasty,its language has the characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties,also contains many unique linguistic phenomena.In terms of vocabulary,they,a large number of colloquial words and idioms,are used,which are easy to understand and have local characteristics.All kinds of words are inheritable and developing.With the proportion of polysyllabic words increasing,many new words and new meanings appearing,which have high research value.Through the text analysis of Twelve Towers,and doing word segmentation,it makes a comprehensive arrangement and analysis of the vocabulary in Twelve Towers.The first part is the preface,collating the history of Chinese vocabulary and the research status of Twelve Towers.The second part,which not only classifies all the words in the book,but also makes statistics and analysis of high frequency words.The third part,which contains an analysis of idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms,focusing on the classification and discussion of idioms from the perspective of epochal character and revising and adding the source of some idioms in the Chinese dictionary.At the same time,the author gives examples of the usage of idioms.The fourth part,which refers to the Chinese dictionary,and summarizes the new words and new meanings in Twelve Towers and makes some basic work,which is helpful to the revision of the dictionary.
