Stuedy On The Narration Pattern Of Twelve Towers

According to the theory of narration, after the detailed reading , .comparison and induction to Li Yu's imitative works of huaben-Twelve Towers have been made from four aspects: narrative structure, narrative emphasis, narrative operation and text structure. In addition, the internal relations are explored among the four aspects and Li Yu's special viewpoint about novel and the style of his works.There are three chapters in this paper.The first chapter is to point out narrative structure and narrative emphasis. Through the narrative structure compartmentalization and induction of the twelve stories of Twelve Towers, we consider that the narrative structure is a linearity one: balance, then outside force one intervention .break balance , outside force two intervention, come nack new balance. The novel plot portion is the narrative emphasis of Twelve Towers, The selection of the narrative emphasis is resulted from Li Yu's unorthodox character and the viewpoint of pursuit for innovation about novel.The second chapter comments on the narrative operation .Limiting the angle of narration and intricacy scheduling to form suspense , adjusting the speed of narration to give prominence to the narrative emphasis, lncreaisng unnarrative language to deliver Li Yu himself. This narrative operation can not only bring on the readability and amusement in Twelve Towers, but also result in appearance of the "reflect author oneself" narrative style.The third chapter deals with the variety factors of the text structure in Twelve Towers, The variety factors in five sectors are described which are poem at the beginning of the work, introductory remarks (Ruhua), prior st"ory (Touhui), straight matter (Zhenghua), poem at the end of the work. Follwing with the obove there came a conclusion that these factors embodied the scholar style of huaben stories and LiYu' special viewpoint about novels.
