A Project Report On The C-E Translation Of Regulations Of Jiangsu Province On Marine Environmental Protection

This project report,wrote based on the English translation of Regulations of Jiangsu Province on Marine Environmental Protection,aiming to study encountered difficulties and propose corresponding solutions during this translation process.The author mainly analyzed linguistic features at the lexical and syntactic levels and further proceeded the analysis to six issues and difficulties in the translation process.Under the guidance of skopostheorie,the author provided adoptable translation methods for lexicon.Dictionaries,higher-level law corpus and online corpus can be referred to for the terminology.Politics-related organizations of expressions with Chinese characteristics could refer to official authoritative expressions,and literal translation can be used for four-Chinese-character structures.Lexical equivalence translation method can be adopted for fuzzy expressions.At the syntactic level,strategy of analyzing and reorganizing the structure of sentences can be applied to the translation of long and complicated sentences.The conditional sentences can be guided by "where","if" and "when".Sentences with the"de(?)",structure can be translated by converting it into conditional adverbial clauses and adding logic subjects.Legal translation bears the heavy responsibility of showing the legal image of the country to the whole world.Through the research and analysis of this project,the author is intended to enhance the marine environmental awareness of citizen and promote provincial and national exchanges in marine environmental protection legislation.
