English is a foreign language for Chinese learmers,which doesn't have a real practical environment in China.That means students can only review continuously while learning.Thus,it's important for junior three students to learn how to review.However,the traditional review method primarily focuses on explaining and practicing,which makes most students have inefficiency,low interest and bad comprehensive capability of English.The aim of this paper is to explore whether the application of situational teaching method in English topic review lesson in junior three can help students improve English affective attitude and comprehensive capability language skills or not.The research is designed to test the following two questions:1.Whafs the advantages of the application of situational teaching method in English topic review lesson in junior three?2.How to use situational teaching method in English topic review lesson in junior three?The research objects are eighty-five students in Class7 and Class 8 in Grade 3 from the Middle School attached to Jimei University in Xiamen,Fujian Province.The study lasts for four months.The study adapts the research method,which includes test and questionnaire to collect statistics.In the pre-test,comprehensive performance test and questionnaire survey were made in the two classes.The aim of the test is to determine whether there are any significant differences between two groups.The aim of the questiornaire is to determine the students,attitude and interests in learning English.In the middle-test,identical review lessons were administered to both classes throughout the study.However,the common inductive-deductive method was used for the controlled class whereas the experimental class is taught using a situational approach topic review.In the post-test,both groups of students are tested and asked to do questionnaire again.After disposal data,the data is carefully analyzed using the SPSS 22.0.The results of this empirical study indicate that the situational teaching approach in topic review ean not only increase students9 English affective attitude but also improve students1 comprehensive language skills.The implications of this study:in order to improve students learning efficiency and comprehensive language skills,teachers should have rich professional knowledge and pay more attention to the teaching aims and class effectiveness when the situational teaching method is used in the process of topic review teaching.
