English as a common foreign Language,is very important for student's development.How can students master the words better is always the questions that people want to research about.Nowadays,soundmark of English has been weaken,thought it ease the burden of learning English from the beginning,it triggers some problems,for example,the students can not recognize the words independently,relying too much on other's teaching and lacking interest in English.Recently,ascribing to the incomparable advantages of Phonics,it becomes popular in Chinese English class.However,as a developing teaching method in China,the demerit and merit of phonics need to be researched.After research the primary school X and Y in Haikou,I find that the usage condition of phonic in Haikou is in a bad situation.Aiming at the situation,I conclude the strategy which can apply the phonics effectively in the elementary English class.The dissertation is divided into six parts:Part one:Introduction.This part mainly introduces the research questions,literature review,purpose and significance,research research focus and difficulties as well as innovation.Part two: Concept definition.This part state the definition of Phonics,teaching,English word teaching.And state the weakness,virtue,and concept of phonics.Phonics is a study method which based on the the pronounce regular of letter and letter combination,it can remove the fear of learning English because it is quiet easy to study.Part three: The theory construction of Phonics teaching.The foundation of Phonics is constructivism learning theory and the theory of language transfer.The student who master the phonics can understand the relationship between sound and shape of the letter,so they can decode the strange vocabulary they met;At the same time,Phonics make full use of the similarity between PinYin and English,so it offer a great convenience to learning English.Part four: The investigation of the phonics application in Haikou.It mainly include the purpose and method of investigation,the objection of investigation,the process and results of investigation,and the last one is the question and reason of the situation.The objection are the teachers and students of X Primary school and Y school.I use the questionnaire method and class research method during the whole process,learning that there are some issues existed.For example,there is a low popularizing rate of phonics in Haikou,the teacher has no plan in teaching English and also without passion.And I figure out there are mainly four reasons: The development of Hainai is too late;Teachers don't set up the idea of lifelong learning;Thechildren don't have enough motivation;Teaching materials is not always suitable.Part five: The application strategy in elementary English phonics teaching.Based on the theories and the application status of phonics,I regard that the teacher should update their knowledge,and use various channels to keep students in a phonics environment;And can combine Phonics with other strategies in the class,such as chant,the game of traffic light,twist,count the phonemic,cut the phonemic,puppet and so on.Part six: Conclusion.This part is focus on the conclusion of the application strategy,and point out the fact that phonics can help the English learner to achieve the purpose of “ you can read the words as soon as you see it;you can write the words as soon as you hear it.At the same time,I point out the deficiency of this essay and the concept I need to update in the future.
