The art of illustration has a very long history.The Chinese illustration art was originally presented in the form of prints,and then evolved along with the introduction of the Buddhist culture of the Western Regions.Nowadays,illustration art has been widely used in many fields of society,especially in today’s social and economic development,the development of illustration art has entered the "business era." Today’s illustrator form is no longer limited to the use of a certain style or material.Therefore,we should strengthen the emphasis and protection of traditional culture,and constantly innovate and develop.Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes,as an extremely important historical and cultural heritage jewel in the history of Chinese art and a treasure of Buddhist art and culture,has a high value of artistic research.Among the treasure houses of Dunhuang Grottoes,Dunhuang murals are the most precious and classic representatives.Because Dunhuang is an important node city of the ancient Silk Road leading to the Western Region,Dunhuang murals are an important part of the grotto art.The most representative forms of Buddhist art preserved by it are not only the absorption and reference of Chinese culture to foreign culture.It is also a typical example of the blending of Chinese and foreign cultures and arts.In the evolution of the localization of Buddhist art,Dunhuang’s mural paintings gradually presented a variety of artistic styles with Chinese cultural characteristics and unique temperament.Among them,the simple and pure Northern Wei murals occupy a considerable position,and it is in the artistic characteristics.It is the beginning and the beginning,and it has an extremely important influence on the development of Dunhuang mural art.This thesis mainly focuses on the murals of the 257th Grottoes in Dunhuang during the Northern Wei Dynasty,focusing on the exploration of the language of story painting art.Under the historical and cultural background of the development of Dunhuang mural art in the Northern Wei Dynasty,the story painting language in Cave 257 was deeply explored and summarized.The subject matter,artistic style and performance characteristics of mural painting were composed of composition form and modeling features.A comprehensive analysis of color features and other aspects,a detailed interpretation of the artistic features of the Northern Wei Dynasty story painting,a deep excavation of the relationship between the story paintings of the Northern Wei Dynasty and modern illustrations,analysis of the value of the mural language used in modern illustration creation,and how to use in modern illustrations In the process of creation,I will think about it,and through the study and reference of my murals,I will extract the unique painting art language and apply it to my graduation design.This article will combine the practical experience of modern illustration creation and paintings to elaborate the application and reflection of the painting language of the story paintings in Dunhuang murals in the Northern Wei Dynasty.
