The decorative language of early Dunhuang murals is diverse and varied,providing color and shape for modern art creation,as well as important creative inspiration and material for modern lacquer painting.Modern Chinese lacquer painting is derived from the thousands of years of inherited lacquer craftsmanship,and after integrating the aesthetic concept and modeling language of contemporary painting,it achieves a conceptual breakthrough and transforms into a purely artistic form,with the unique material beauty of lacquer itself making its decorative aesthetic characteristics prominent.The scope of this paper is limited to the early Dunhuang cave paintings,and the timeline is from the late Sixteen Kingdoms to before the Sui Dynasty,and by summarizing the reference and application of Dunhuang themes by modern Chinese lacquer painters,it is found that the lacquer language is sufficient to carry the Dunhuang art form.Then,he explored in depth and discovered the decorative language such as color style,modeling characteristics,composition layout and so on of early Dunhuang murals,and applied to the creation of lacquer painting to enhance the decorative function of lacquer itself,and understand the creative characteristics and aesthetic expression of Dunhuang themes in modern lacquer paintings.Finally,adhering to the principle of theory guiding practice,using the long-scroll composition of early Dunhuang murals in the creation of personal lacquer painting,contrasting colors,exaggerated shapes and other characteristics,through a large number of practices,it has been found that the rich lacquer language is very suitable for expressing the rich and deep Dunhuang mural and the vicissitudes of the wind and frost for a long time,using lacquer as the medium to reproduce Dunhuang elements,which is to express the world’s cultural treasures with new art forms,show the Chinese national spirit,and also use the influence of Dunhuang culture to let more people understand the art of lacquer painting.
