As an international language,English is frequently used in daily communication.It is also one of the criteria for measuring modern talents.English is a language subject,and its own social attributes determine its wide range of applications.In the process of practical language application,the assessment of group cooperation consciousness and cooperation ability has become the consensus of educational circles.The traditional teaching mode is the students'passive absorption auxiliary teaching mode that centers on teachers.However,with the development and improvement of society,especially in the multimedia era,the widespread use of traditional English teaching has appeared disadvantages.It has ignored the communication and cooperation between the teachers and the students.In Chinese test-oriented education,a great number of learning tasks lead to the phenomenon of dumb English which is against the original intention of learning language since students' ultimate goal of learning English is to master the language.At present,with the deepening of the basic curriculum reform development,new teaching requirements and goals have been raised and proposed.The group cooperative learning strategy should be integrated into teaching process.Heterogeneous cooperative learning group,as the basic organization form,and the evaluation standards of group performance should be applied to systematically and dynamically promote cooperative learning among students in order to achieve learning goals.Based on the summary of relevant theories,the students should carry on the systematic study of cooperative learning.Based on the study of previous relevant researches and theories,the author the combined theory with practice.Questionnaire,interview and comparative study on education research methods have been applied to conduct researches in two classes of Junior 2(Class 6 and Class 9)in middle school from Zhongshan city with the same level.According to the empirical research on cooperative learning,the group cooperation English teaching mode and the comparative study of traditional English teaching model,let's make a comparative study of the two classes based on English testing and analysis about the results of questionnaire survey,which found that cooperative learning is more advantageous than traditional English teaching mode.It has improved the teaching effect,and greatly stimulated the students'motivation and passion in English learning.Besides,the atmosphere and overall performance of English learning have been promoted and improved.Finally,the strategies of effective group cooperative learning will be summarized in this thesis,which is beneficial for English teachers to better achieve the teaching goals by using the group cooperative learning strategies.
