With the deep penetration of Internet in people’s life,it brings both convenience and problems,such as the excessive use of network.High school students are all adolescents,their physiological and psychological development have not been balanced..Compared with the day students,the resident students have lower mental health,stronger loneliness,less communication with their families,less support resources and more influence when they encounter stressful life events.This study aims to explore the relationship between stressful life events and two emotion regulation strategies in the use of pathological internet use among resident students.In addition,the following study two were carried out to investigate whether the cognitive emotional group psychological counseling can reduce the effect of stressful life and the level of pathological internet use.Research one,the Emotion Regulation Scale,Adolescents Pathological Internet Use Scale and Adolescents Stressful Life Events Scale was carried out on the resident students in their class.The correlation analysis result showed that stressful life events had significantly positive correlation with pathological Internet use,the cognitive reappraisal had significantly negative correlation with the pathological Internet use,the expression suppression had significantly positve correlation with pathological Internet use.Regression analysis results showed that stressful life events and expression suppression can positive predict the pathological internet use,while cognitive reappraisal can positive predict the pathological internet use.Research two,thirty-two subjects with high scores in Adolescents Stress Life Events Scale and Adolescents Pathological Internet Use Scale were selected to participate in this study,16 subjects were choosed in the experimental group,16 people were choosed in the control group,the experimental group recieved the cognitive emotion regulation group counselling,while no intervention was performed on the control group.Use the Emotion Regulation Scale,Adolescents Pathological Internet Use Scale and Adolescents Stressful Life Events Scale for the experimental group and control group before and after the group psychology counseling.The results showed that the score of Adolescents Stress Life Events Scale and Adolescents Pathological Internet Use Scale had significantly reduced,while a significant increase happenned in the cognitive reappraisal strategy scale.There was no significant change in scores in the control group.
