A Contrastive Study Of Chinese And Uygur Antonyms

Antonyms are a common linguistic phenomenon in every language.The study of Chinese antonyms plays an important role in vocabulary research.Some objective research results are existed regardless of the semantics,pragmatics,structure,word order of antonyms or the asymmetry and rhetoric function of antonyms.Because both of Chinese and Uygur belong to different language families,the form of antonym in these two languages is different.However,similarities are also existed.In this paper,Chinese and Uyghur antonyms are compared from five perspectives:classification,structure,semantics,word order and pragmatic characteristics revealing their similarities and differences.This paper is divided into seven chapters.In the first chapter,the research status of antonyms in Chinese and Uygur,the significance of the topic,the research methods used and the sources of this article are introduced.In the second chapter,the antonym of Chinese and Uygur is classified.This part mainly studies definition of antonyms in Chinese and Uygur and the antonym relationship.This article studies antonyms in Chinese and Uygur from different angles and finds out the similarities and differences.In the third part,the structure comparison of Chinese and Uygur antonyms are given.This chapter compares Chinese and Uygur antonyms using the way of antonym formation.The structure of Chinese antonyms could be divided into three types:simple antonyms,compound antonyms and additional antonyms.The structure of Uygur antonyms could be divided into three types:root antonyms,derivative antonyms,compound or bipartite antonyms,and the similarities and differences between them are pointed out.In the fourth chapter,the semantic comparison of antonyms between Chinese and Uygur is given.Chinese and Uygur antonyms are divided into relative antonyms and absolute antonyms in terms of logical relations;the relationship between Chinese and Uygur antonyms is studied in terms of semantic relation;the relationship between antonyms and synonyms is analysed in terms of the relationship between antonyms and synonyms pointing out the similarities and differences between them.In the fifth chapter,the pragmatic characteristics of antonyms between Chinese and Uygur are given.The pragmatic characteristics of antonyms between Chinese and Uygur are compared,indicating the similarities and differences in the pragmatic characteristics of antonyms between Chinese and Uygur.The sixth chapter is the word order characteristics of Chinese and Uygur antisense morphemes.Based on the word order law of Chinese and Uygur antonym morphemes,this paper compares the two languages and finds out the characteristics of word order.In the seventh chapter,the main content is summarized;problems are solved,and the shortcomings are showed.
