Since new period,Tibetan literature has been flourishing no matter in writing Tibetan culture by Han writers or in bilingual writing by Tibetan writers. From the works of Tibetan writers, writing ethnic culture and history has become a foothold for Tibetan writers, and the presentation of culture is an important aspect of ethnography,"writing culture" has built a bridge of mutual penetration between ethnography and literature.Writers unduly state culture and history makes the literariness of ethnographic novels weak from the perspective of fiction criticism, based on the mutual infiltration of ethnography and literature in this paper, from the perspective of ethnography novels to explore the cultural connotation of three typical of ethnographic novel in contemporary Tibetan fiction:Zhandui,Dictionary of Qinghai-Tibet and Kangba,as well as the cultural connotation of the Tibetan ethnographic novels raises questions about literariness, and formed the following main views.First of all,Tibetan ethnographic novels write the cultural form of the nation.Tibetan ethnography novel has the nature of ethnography, the novel displays the national culture form mainly through the writer’s deep experience of ethnic life or his own experience, and conduct field research, research on local historical data, folk customs, dietary habits, etc. The novels created on this basis have both the "truth" of ethnography and the fiction. This kind of novel describes the cultural form mainly through the writing of daily life, social system and history to show the Tibetan culture, and reveal the deep cultural implication of ethnic groups and the power of humanistic spirit.Secondly,Tibetan ethnographic novels have profound cultural connotation. This chapter probes into the cultural connotation of Tibetan ethnographic novels by answering the expression and purpose of the writer’s "writing culture" and the implication.By investigating folk legends, customs and beliefs and consulting official materials, the author writes history and returns to primitive culture in order to find the root of national culture in the context of modernity. This chapter explores the deep reasons and manifestations of cultural roots based on the historical and cultural memory of Tibetan ethnographic novels. Finally, the literariness of Tibetan ethnographic novels is weakened. In the post-modern period when the boundary between literature and non-literature was blurred.for literature, its literariness "escapes" into the culture and shows a state of gradual weakening;for non-literature,literariness spreads to anthropology, sociology and other disciplines.Ethnographic novel is formed in this trend of thought. The author tries to explore and reflect on the influence of cultural and historical writing on the literariness of Tibetan ethnographic novel. In general,Tibetan ethnographic novels have rich cultural deposits. The writer conveys a long history and culture of his own nation through writing, and its cultural connotation is worth exploring, which has always been concerned by the academic circle. However, the weakening of its literariness should also be paid attention to by the academic circle in order to promote the better development of Tibetan ethnographic novels.
