Since Maurice Halbwachs put forward the concept of "collective memory" in his book "Social Framework of Memory",memory research has become a research hotspot in Western academic circles.In the 1980 s,faced with the influence of social and political changes and post-modernism,the West has shown great enthusiasm for memory research.Influenced by Western memory theory,Chinese memory research has gradually emerged at the beginning of the new century.People need to rely on a medium to preserve,strengthen,or revisit the construction of memory.Different media must also differ in the construction of memory.The image,especially the documentary itself,is a kind of history that can reproduce the lost past.Become a carrier of social memory.As one of the important cultural institutions in the society,the museum undertakes the role of serving the society and promoting social development;it is mainly responsible for collecting,preserving,researching,communicating and communicating the material evidence of human beings and their environment;to realize research,education and entertainment.Wait for the ultimate goal.The logical combination of the documentary and the museum is that the documentary can be used as a medium for social memory alongside the museum.Under certain conditions,it can also exist as a "museum" in a special medium.The main research object of this paper is a documentary about museum-related subjects.From the perspective of social memory,this paper attempts to explore the construction of museum-based documentaries for people's memory.Through the collection of various video websites,a typical and representative representative of 20 museum documentaries was selected for analysis and interpretation.In the first part,it explains how the documentary image is married with history,its value change and the literature value of the image,thus further exploring the activation of the documentary for social memory.The main way is the selection of real material and the clever narrative strategy.In combination with his own graduation work "Liu Jing Memory",it is discussed in detail.Secondly,the presentation of images depends on certain technical means.The use of different technical means will inevitably affect the expression of the documentary,thus affecting the construction of memory.Focusing on the common sounds,light,color,scene reproduction and other technical means of documentary,we discuss how to realize the construction of memory at the creative level.It then analyzes the commonality of social memory between documentaries and museums,as well as the value of the “museum” documentary.Finally,it focuses on the critical reflection of the museum documentary,the crisis of social memory—for the “forgetting” of history;and the analysis of the power practice of documentary production,which is discussed from two levels of ideology and creator.It is believed that the presentation of documentary images is influenced by many factors,such as mainstream ideology,film industry mechanism,consumption system,and creator's personal values and narrative methods.If we want to positively guide the documentary imagery to the construction of collective memory,then the relationship between film production and policy level should be carefully coordinated and coordinated,and play the role of cultural rights statute in documentary film production and dissemination,in order to better shape the collective memory of the nation.Guide the common spiritual identity of the whole nation.
