Textual Research On The Evolution Of Sun Wukong's Visual Art

As a well-known literary figure,Sun Wukong's visual art research is still in its infancy.This paper takes Sun Wukong's visual art image and its evolution as the main object of study.It is the first attempt to make a holistic study of this academic proposition.In the context of the evolution of "Acquire Scriptures Stories-Journey to the West Stories-Sun Wukong's Stories",this paper combs the visual art image of Sun Wukong in the past dynasties art works,carries out a phased study,summarizes the elements of modeling,and analyses its formation and evolution motivation.The first chapter explains the cultural origin of Sun Wukong's visual art image:through the proposition of Monkey Fakir,it explains the monkey nature origin of Sun Wukong and its evolution process from rhesus monkey to ape and then to Stone Monkey;emphasizes the story system as the cultural origin of the visual art image,and introduces the evolution process of the True History of Acquire Scriptures,Acquire Scriptures Stories,Journey to the West Stories and Sun Wukong'Stories respectively;The evolution of Sun Wukong s visual art image is divided into historical stages.Chapters 2 to 5 make a concrete analysis of Sun Wukong's visual image in the"four historical stages".Chapter 2 analyses the image of Monkey Fakir in Tang and Song Dynasty by sorting out the latest and most complete art data up to 2018,which is the focus of this paper.Chapter 3 analyses the image of Sun Fakir in Yuan Dynasty.Chapter 4 and 5 summarize and analyze the image of QitianDasheng in Ming and Qing Dynasties and the image of Monkey King since the Republic of China.Chapter 6 is about the value:the first section discusses the historical value and aesthetic value of Sun Wukong s visual art;the second section elaborates the empirical value of Sun Wukong s visual art for "Disciplines on the Journey to the West"and the prototype of Sun Wukong's characters;and the third section outlines the industrial value of Sun Wukong's visual art.This paper combs the thousand-year history of Sun Wukong's visual art image,and holds that the two basic characteristics of Sun Wukong's image are"ontological contradiction"and"subjective anxiety",which run through the whole process of visual art image evolution and correspond to many aspects of Chinese cultural change.
