Based on the tradition of Chinese civilization,"monkey",as a character and a totem,accumulates a profound biological and cultural charm in the river of long history.In Journey to the West created by Wu Cheng'en in the Ming Dynasty,Sun Wukong as one of the main characters carries the spiritual core of the traditional society and is loved by the Chinese readers.The screen image of Sun Wukong that can be traced is from the film The Cave of the Silken Web created in 1927.With the sophistication of science and technology and the rising of the film industry,the image of Sun Wukong,as a classic IP,bursts out of a strong artistic tension and has become a screen hot again.Chapter One explore and analyze the history and culture sources of the production of Sun Wukong from monkey culture,and analyze the figure characteristics of Sun Wukong in the novel"Journey to the West"in.Chapter Two divide the research object into 4 stages according to the film creation upsurge:In the1920s,"Sun Wukong"first appeared on screen,a fantastic piece of"martial arts,gods and spirits"boomed;In 1940s to 1960s,there was full of animate cartoons and theatrical films with national characteristics,Sun Wukong showed the civilized characteristics as culture weapons under that specific background;In the 1990 s,started the post-modernization subversive creation of the character of Sun Wukong,marked by"A Chinese Odyssey",which became a logo to wind indicator of mass culture shift;Since 2013,representative by"Journey to the West:Conquering the Demons??·???"and"Journey to the West:Conquest the Evils??·???",continue the diversification creation of the figure of Sun Wukong,unify the swing of humanity and the conversion of the buddha-nature as a whole;Chapter Three and Chapter Four is an in-depth exploration of third and fourth section in Chapter Two.Chapter Three,discuss image-building and narrative strategy towards the Sun Wukong in“western odyssey”s(including"Chinese Odyssey Part OnePandoras?????????""Chinese Odyssey Part Two?????????""Chinese Odyssey Part Three????3").Chapter Four,analyze its darkly imagestyle and its reconstitution theme to traditional values according to characteristics of Sun Wukong in"westward journey"s(including"Journey to the West:Conquering the Demons??·???","Journey to the West:Conquest the Evils??·???").Chapter Five,compare Sun Wukong in movies with the United States,Japan and South Korea,highlight the counter-point relationships between Chinese Sun Wukong's character in the movie and the social change,cultural transformation,ideological reform.In the critical period of IP industry chain production and supply content reform of Chinese films,the research of this paper is of great practical significance.
