The suitable natural geographical environment of Nanyang county,promoted the formation and development of the settlements,and under the influence of human factors,the settlements showed different levels,geographical distribution and structural patterns,making the settlements showed unique regional characteristics.In the Qing Dynasty,the three-level settlements of nanyang county,Nanyany city,Market town,Bao-Jia and its villages,experienced more than 200 years of development on the basis of the Ming Dynasty,finally stabilized at the end of the Qing Dynasty,and laid the foundation of today's rural settlement system.Nanyang city is the center of the settlement system in Nanyang county.From the small scale at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty,to the end of the Qing Dynasty expanded the famous “plum city”.Its internal structure had been constantly improved.Political zones,economic zones,cultural zones and military defense zones had became more complex.In the Qing Dynasty,the market towns of Nanyang county were flourished,with 46 small and large market towns distributed along the “meter-shaped” traffic routes,radiated the whole county and formed a full coverage.In addition,the flourishing of temple fairs,the gathering of department stores and colorful literary and artistic activities in temple fairs,not only complemented the shortage of market towns,but also enriched people's economic and cultural life.The developed market towns and temple fairs showed the new height of commodity economy development in Nanyang county in Qing Dynasty.Through the restoration research of Bao-Jia and its villages,make it shows on the map.Restoration of 101 Bao-Jia and its villages in Nanyang county at the end of the Qing Dynasty is completed by dividing two regions and four steps,and draws a detailed picture of the Bao-Jia boundary,as well as statistics the villages and the number of the villages.Finally,the boundary of Nanyang county in the 30 th year of Guangxu reign(1904)in the late Qing Dynasty is also described,which can provide a reference for the determination of the county boundary of Nanyang county in the Qing Dynasty.The three-level settlement system of Nanyang county in the Qing Dynasty,was on the basis of the Ming Dynasty,after more than two hundred year's development,formed a stable system to the end of the Qing Dynasty,which laid the foundation of today's rural settlements in the Nanyang county.Therefore,it still has a great academic value,significance and broad prospect to study and recover.
