English is a language which is used most widely in today's society.With the spread of English,the study of English becomes more and more important.As we know,reading class is one of important types of English teaching in senior high school.Meanwhile,high school is an important stage for students to improve their reading ability.Therefore,it has become an effective way to construct the system of student-centered classroom activities in reading teaching.The thesis introduces the background and purpose of the study of English reading classroom activities,and emphasizes the necessity and importance of English reading classroom activities in senior high school.In perspective of the importance of classroom activities in English teaching,it is necessary for us to know whether classroom activities are valued,as well as the implementation of high school English reading classroom activities.So the research uses the methods of questionnaire,interview and classroom observation,regarding 240 senior high students and 30 teachers in NO.5 senior high school of Mudanjiang as the respondents.The two questions are as follows:(1)What type of classroom activities are teachers more likely to use in the pre-reading,while-reading and post-reading phases? And what type of classroom activities do students prefer to choose in three reading phases?(2)What is the current situation of the design,implementation,and evaluation of English reading classroom activities? And what problems exist?Through the collected materials and data,the author understands the views of teachers and students.Most teachers and students attach great importance to classroom activities.They believe that classroom activities play a very important role in English teaching.Through data analysis and discussion,the author finds the situation of the design,implementation and evaluation of English reading classroom activities,and the problems in implementing classroom activities,such as the design of activities are not reasonable enough,the participation of students is low and they are unable to fully express emotions.As for the problems,the author puts forward corresponding suggestions.Firstly,when designing classroom activities,teachers should adopt many types of classroom activities according to students' preference.The contents of classroom activities should be related to students' daily life,and there should be logic between activities.Secondly,when implementing classroom activities,teachers should clearly explain the rules of classroom activities to students in pre-reading phase.In while-reading,teachers should allocate time better,timely help students in needs and teach reading skills.In post-reading,teachers should give feedback timely according to students' performance.Thirdly,in the aspect of evaluating classroom activities,teachers should make a reflection after class and help students better express their feelings in class.
