A Study Of Chinese Literature Of Pure Land Sect In Japan

The exchange of Buddhism between China and Japan has a long history.In a sense,the Pure Land Sect of Japan was founded on the Eastern Spread of Chinese Buddhist scriptures.For historical reasons,the Chinese Buddhist documents in Japan are relatively intact.Japanese Chinese literature is an important supplement to Chinese literature in China.Through cataloguing and publishing of Japanese Chinese Pure Land Sect literature,this paper examines the distribution characteristics of Japanese Chinese Pure Land Sect literature,explores their merits and demerits,and takes literature as a window to see the evolution and evolution of Japanese Pure Land Sect.At the same time,it forms a clear and concrete understanding of Japanese Chinese Pure Land Sect documents and constructs them.The establishment of Chinese Buddhist literature system provides support.This paper takes the Chinese literature of Pure Land Sect in Japan as the research object,which is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction,which briefly introduces the formation and research status of the theme of the paper,including the background,research value and The Current Situation of Research on Pure Land Sect and Chinese Documents in Japan at Home and Abroad,then plans the main content and structure of the paper,looks forward to the expected innovation of this paper and puts forward the research methods of the paper.The second part is the textual research on the catalogue of Japanese Chinese Pure Land Sectliterature.By using the relevant materials in the library of Otani University and the classification catalogue of Chinese books,the author makes a simple catalogue of the Chinese books before modern Japan,including the quasi-Chinese Pure Land Sect,according to the chronological order,and interprets the development trend of Japanese Pure Land Sect through the analysis of the catalogue.After the reform of Meiji,the number of general records,historical,biographical,artistic and statutory documents influenced by Western learning gradually increased.The edition of the documents was dominated by the Han literature,and the number of quasi-Han registrations printed in Japanese books gradually increased after Edo.This paper summarizes the characteristics of the periodic development of Japanese literature of Pure Land Sect of Han nationality through interpretation,and affirms the trend of diversification of Pure Land Sect of Japan.The third part is a comparative study of the literature of the Pure Land Sect of Tibetan Scripture between China and Japan,with the comparison of the literature collected in Taisho-pitaka and Pure Land Tibet as an example,focusing on the evaluation of the merits and demerits of the editing of the two books.As the peak of Japanese Tibetan Sutra work,Taisho-pitaka contains a vast number of Buddhist classics as well as the oldest Pure Land Sect documents.With the vigorous development of Pure Land Sect in China,the Buddhist Association of Hebei Province published Pure Land Collection in 2010,including all kinds of Pure Land Classics.This paper compares 205 documents with 314 bibliographies collected in Pure Land Collection,which are classified as Pure Land Specialty,including Pure Land Thought and General Theory.It also chooses the edition of Viewing Buddhist Sutras of Immeasurable Life,which is a coexistence of the two books and plays an important role in Pure Land Sect,to proofread and see the whole leopard,and concludes that the two books are in the arrangement and compilation of Tibetan Sutra.It summarizes the merits and demerits of the two books in the compilation and compilation of Tibetan classics,that is,there are many and not miscellaneous Pure Land documents in Taisho-pitaka,but the selected editions are more primitive and erroneous because of the early completion of the book;the literature collected in Pure Land Collectionis too abundant and not specialized,besides the classics the Pure Land,there are still many such as Zen and Huayan Sect.Other documents should be more careful in compiling and choosing materials,but their editions are well-edited and without errors,which is more conducive to the reading of modern Buddhists.Finally,the paper reviews the Chinese literature of Pure Land Sect in Japan,explores its academic value and philological significance,summarizes its enlightenment to the collation and publication of Chinese Pure Land Sect literature,puts forward the necessity of expanding communication between Chinese and Japanese Pure Land Sect literature,and looks forward to the future of Chinese Pure Land Sect literature in the perspective of globalization.
