Márai Sándor is a famous writer in Hungary in the 20 th century, however, his works have only been translated and introduced in the past two or three years. In the history of the review, the "class" of his work and his status as the young intellectual of Eastern Europe have been introduced, and the author has made detailed comments in the author's experience, the subject of the works, the literary style and so on.But most of the studies focus on the experience of Márai Sándor and the cultural background at that time, and the fresh few have to explain his novel from the theme of alienation. As a flag of the citizen's class culture,he held the dilemma of modern people. The critical attitude most typically represents the spirit of Hungarian writers. At the same time,he is also Hungary's last intellectual to defend aesthetic values, the memory of tradition caused him to continue to write the era of collapse in the works,so his novels have a strong sense of elegiac,as well as the mood at the end of the century.Márai's failure to integrate into the mainstream proclaimed the decline of a glorious era,but his work had a great appeal because of the feeling of being close to the individual life.In his best novels,he constructs the aesthetic spirit of the period of historical change in a private way,as well as the delicate feelings of modern urban citizen on fate. This article starts with five pieces of Márai's work,Divided into three levels according to the content and theme, this paper attempts to analyze the embodiment of alienation theme in Márai's works from the perspectives of literary ontology and social history,so as to understand the writer's spiritual growth history as an individual in more detail. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performances and causes of alienation themes in Márai's novels. In this paper, the introduction is a simple review of the research status quo at home and abroad, including the understandings of Márai byEuropean,American and Chinese academic circles,as well as the research content, research methods and innovation points of this paper. The first chapter mainly expounds the alienation of class felt by Márai: class is an important concept in Márai's novels, and he always observes the world through this aspect. The second chapter discusses the cultural alienation in Márai's works: the personal experience of Márai after he entered the world, and also the dilemma he cannot get rid of as a Hungarian writer. The third chapter deals with the root causes of alienation: this chapter is a summary of the first two chapters and a general review of Márai's personal experience and how it reflects the tragedy of modern society. In this paper, the theme of alienation has been divided into three levels and the author analyzes it from the perspectives of social modernity and historical development. The three parts of this paper demonstrate the structure of analysis-summary,but not completely subordinate to the structure of objective-conclusion of the research ideas, but from the perspective of an open analysis of the text. The most effective and reliable research path to analyze the characters in Márai's novels is from the perspective of alienation theme and to observe the influence of Márai's among the Hungarian cultural atmosphere.Márai''s works are born out of the Hungarian romantic literature tradition and his golden age has passed away, but he deeply influenced and inspired Hungarian writers of later generations.
