A Study Of Markovic’s Humanitarian Dialectics

Mihailo Markovic(1923-2010)is one of the famous representatives of the new Marxism in Eastern Europe and the Yugoslav practice group.Humanitarian dialectics is a set of ideas and methods put forward by Markovic on the basis of innovative understanding of the dialectical thoughts of Marxist classic writers,combining the alienation reality of people in contemporary society and the needs of Yugoslav socialist reform.It not only pays attention to the individual existence and historical form of human beings,revealing the human attributes of dialectics,but also explores the historical possibility and specific path of human self-realization and interprets the unity of man and history with the concept of praxis in the ontological sense.Humanitarian dialectics has complete logic in three dimensions of social critique,philosophical expression and political practice.It’s both a “critical social philosophy”and a “philosophical anthropology”,and also a spiritual guide and theoretical mirror of socialist reform.Specifically,the political and economic “alienation” in Soviet Union and Yugoslavia is the direct critical object of humanitarian dialectics;the “Practical Humanitarian Theory” is the way of expression and logical orientation of humanitarian dialectics at the philosophical level;the “Autonomous Socialism”reform in Yugoslavia is the political application of humanitarian dialectics.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the theoretical origin of humanitarian dialectics.The second chapter expounds Markovic’s critique of contemporary social alienation.The third chapter discusses Markovic’s Practical Humanitarian Theory system.The fourth chapter discusses the theoretical contents,realistic problems and its lessons of “Autonomous Socialism”.The fifth chapter evaluates the theory of humanitarian dialectics on a Chinese position and talks about its inspiration for China’s socialist construction.
