Reading is an important point in English education,and it is the key point and difficulty in English teaching.The English syllabus for Secondary Vocational School puts forward the basic requirements for students’ reading ability:(1)The basic modules are required to grasp the central meaning of the reading materials and find out the details.Able to guess the meaning of words according to context and word formation.Able to make a simple judgment according to the information in the article.Able to read simple practical articles,such as invitations,notices and forms.The students can understand short readings on common topics.(2)The teaching of vocational modules should combine the actual needs of the industry,use real scenes or set virtual scenes,and select real or practical language materials.Therefore,in order to improve Secondary Vocational students’ English reading comprehension ability and improve students’ independent learning ability,it is imperative to develop a practical and effective English reading teaching model for Secondary Vocational School based on the actual needs of their industries.The purpose of this study is to explore the action of PBL in the teaching of English reading in Secondary Vocational School.Through the methods of literature review and questionnaire survey,it will take 4 months to study in a Secondary Vocational School of Xing’an League in Inner Mongolia,the object of this research are 44 students of the second grade of preschool education major.Through teaching action research,to understand the specific project teaching methods in vocational English reading teaching application.Through two rounds of teaching action research,it is found that:The project teaching method promotes the change of the role of teachers and students,and teachers’role changes from the leader to the guide or promoter.Students are not passive to accept knowleage,but actively explore knowledge,change to the main participant.Therefore,project teaching method can not only improve Secondary Vocational students’ independent reading ability,but also strengthen their ability of self-management and self-supervision.At the same time,according to the actual needs of the preschool education industry,the project plan was implemented,which not only expanded the students’ the amount of reading,but also improved the English autonomous reading ability of Secondary Vocational students. |
