This is a translation report focusing on the E-C translation of conditional sentences in chapter six of A Forensic Linguistic Approach to Legal Disclosures, which mainly explains the experimental evidence of the readers' understanding of the case Mezyk v.Bank of America and the acceptability of the evidence. In the process of translating this legal document, the author finds that long sentences frequently appear in the legal document, and the frequency of conditional sentences is relatively high.Taking the conditional sentences encountered in chapter 6 as the research object, the author lists the difficulties in this translation report and analyzes the translation methods under the guidance of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory, such as literal translation and free translation, and appropriate translation techniques like addition, omission, inversion, splitting, reorganization, etc. In the process of translation, the author tries to overcome the obstacles caused by cultural differences in order to conform to the expression habits of the target language, and accurately and effectively convey the original information, thus finally realizing the functional equivalence between the original text and the translated work and providing references for the translation of similar legal documents in the future.
