This translation practice report is based on the legal text of Agreement for Sale and Purchase of Real Estate in Sunderland Hobsonville Point.Conditional sentences make up most of space in the English legal text, and in translation practice, the translator Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory is used as the theory basis.First, conditional sentences are divided into two types, dominant ones with conditional guide words and recessive ones without conditional guide words. Then, typical cases are extracted for analysis in detail. The strategies applied to the translation of conditional sentences in the real estate agreement are summed up.This practice report is divided into the following main parts: the first part is the task description, which consists of the content characteristics of the translated materials and the project introduction; The second part explains the process of translation, including the preparation before translation, the process of translation, the work after translation and the application of relevant translation theories in the translation of legal texts. The third part is the case study, through the analysis of the different translation methods of explicit conditional sentences and implicit conditional sentences in agreements, the common translation strategies of conditional sentences are summarized in English legal texts. The fourth part is the summary of translation practice, which summarizes the translation experience, the problems and the enlightenment for the future translation work. This translation practice deepens the translator's understanding both of language features and translation skills of this kind of English legal text.Although the report still has some deficiencies,it is expected to provide a reference for translators who will engage in similar translation in the future.
