The Creation And Research Of Comic Strips In The Miao Heroic Epic"King Yalu"

This research paper combines with graduation work,the representation form of which is comic strip.The subject is taken from Miao’s heroic epic "King Yalu",an epic completed in 2009 and successfully included as the national intangible cultural heritage after a:pplication.Yalu King is compiled by sorting out epic legends of "Yalu King"passed on in an oral tradition across generations by tribes of Miao Nationality in Mashan region,Guizhou province.As an important cultural classic of miao nationality in Guizhou province,this epic is inherited well,but it is not propagated and protected effectively.Therefore,the author attempts to make artistic treatment and description to the epic through the creation of comic strips.The content of comic strips uses several chapters in the story of epic as the creation theme,interpreting the original story in terms of characterization.In accordance with traditional figures in tribes of miao nationality in Guizhou province,Constructing the Epic Stray of "King Yalu",making it possible to satisfy modern people’s aesthetic apprecdation and attract more people to know this heroic epic of miao nationality.The author takes several chapters of the epic as the theme of the comic strip.These chapters mainly tell the story that when King Yalu was young,he learned different knowledge and martial arts from other tribes,and completed his studies when he was 9 years old.On his way back to his motherland,he passed by a country and encountered a fierce beast in the forest of this country.King Yalu defeated it after the fierce battle,but his heroic action was envied by the local king.The King deceived King Yalu and caught him.When the king was ready to kill King Yalu,Yalu bravely escaped and returned to his motherland.After returning home,King Yalu used the knowledge he had learned to enrich and strengthen the country and increase his military force.His motherland became stronger and stronger.When King Yalu was 12 years old,he inherited the throne at his mother’s behest.King Yalu actively expanded the territory after his succession to the throne,in the course of foreign wars,he succeeded in defeating the country under the rule of the king once wanted to kill him.The author considered and wrote paper during the process of creating the picture-story book,expounded from the perspectives of topic meaning,preliminary investigation,story origin,role design,draw painting,scenic style,mode of drawing,composition idea and so forth.The paper is divided into five chapters,the first chapter is introduction which is subject to describe the topic and explain the cause of selecting this topic as graduation creation and theme of graduation paper,and to analyze realistic condition the topic in domestic.The second chapter is to analyze generalization of picture-story book,which is subject to state generalization and structure of picture-story book,the third chapter is to analyze the generalization of hero epic King Yalu,which is mainly to expound historic origin and meaning of King Yalu,then it analyzed current status of epic in domestic.The fourth chapter is mainly to tell about the function of role and layout design in picture-story book.The fifth chapter is creation rounds,starting from the preliminary preparation of graduation creation,thinking from the aspect of pattern of manifestation,collecting materials and plotting graduation creation and determining painting style finally,afterwards,drawing the draft of story board,deliberating compositions of every creation repeatedly,eventually,to determine story board and depict and complete every piece of creation.Communicating with author and supervisors repeatedly and making corresponding revision,and gained much precious experience during the process of creation,the author summarized some difficulties and demerits according to his accumulated knowledge during the process of paper creation.
