The King Yalu is Hmong’s oral heroic epic. It contains ancient Hmong’s unique music, language, place names, customs, religion, and other cultural information. It is an excellent classic text for studies of ancient Hmong. But it is facing a very serious survival crisis. Impacts of the alien culture, farmers into the city to work, and learn scripture in the rigidly fixed time is an important reason. So when the scholars study the various versions epic, they must record them in detailed what task they finished in everyday. Making it into a written text is an important and highly effective protection measures, and has positive protection significance. This paper seeks to refer the relevant literature and fieldwork, it based on the combination of ancient and modern scholars’ Hmong cultural studies. I have done a more in-depth study the inherent culture of The King Yalu from the numbers, colors and mark with the perspectives of the main theory oral poetics Parry- Lord theoretical and cultural anthropology, etc.In the aspect of digital, my study to find twelve is the initial formation of heaven and earth, the real beginning of the life light. It is the maximum number in the god’s world. Seventy is a symbol of good luck; three is symbolizing heaven, earth and man; nine is the largest number in the human world. In the color aspect, the study to find that white is an auspicious color; black, red is a neutral color; Yellow is a noble color; Blue, green is the color of love; purple is the color of desire and express ambition. In the mark aspect, the study to find that it is a message to inform or prohibit certain acts of others. I have found the Cultural Connotations of ancient Hmong’s different numbers and different colors, and the marks’ function in the Hmong community and its change in the course of thousands years. So my paper provides a good reference for study The King Yalu and further study the Hmong culture.
