This is aconsecutive interpreting practice report of an informal speech.Consecutive interpreting of informal speech takes place on informal occasion and contents of informal speech are colloquial.“De-verbalization” theory is extensively applied in the field of interpreting,thus consecutive interpreting of informal speech under its guidance is referential to other interpreters.The speech on family educationin Guangya schoolserves as the case analysis object for this paper.Under the guidance of “de-verbalization” theory,the author analyses factors that affect the quality of informal speech interpreting through case study of the interpreting practice and puts forward corresponding coping strategies for effective “de-verbalization” in informal speech interpreting.According to “de-verbalization” theory,the paper analyzes four factors that affect “de-verbalization” in informal speech interpreting including the speaker's background information,the speaker's verbal peculiarities,the key and difficult points of the speech and the cultural differences on the topic.The author summarizes three specific coping strategies based on the factors.First,pre-interview with the speaker,through which the speaker's related background information and verbal peculiarities can beacquired by the author.Second,preparation for the key and difficult points of the speech.Third,preparation for the cultural differences based on the topic.The author tries to draw lessons from her own field practice of consecutive interpreting of an informal speech,thus providing feasible advice for other interpreting learners.
