In 1935,the Chinese New Literature Series was published,of which The Poetry Collection containing 400 poems,an introduction and notes on poets and poetry, was edited by Zhu Ziqing. As an early collection of Chinese new poetry,on the one hand, this book made a comprehensive introduction and summary of the first 10 years of Chinese new poetry, portraying a panorama of it,then on this basis,Zhu Ziqing provided the new routes of theory and practice to write Chinese new poetry, which became the most significant text and resource of the next ten years, even for now;on the other hand,by sorting out the new poetry's evolution and demarcating it,Zhu Ziqing successfully separated Chinese new poetry from its legality, which turned to the construction of the Chinese new poetry's progressiveness, achieving the the Chinese new poetry's "shifting of emphasis".This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter cuts into The Poetry Collection from the perspective of selection, focusing on the "new" in two dimensions:the "new" in content and form, and the "new" in path. Then a cross-argument is conducted by taking Xin Shi Ji,Fen Lei Bai Hua ShiXuan and Xin Shi NianXuan(1919)as references. The second chapter takes the copy of The Poetry Collection as pointcut, and discusses Zhu Ziqing's poetic proposition in the theory and criticism of new poetry, which focuses on its inheritance and development of existing poetic resources. The third chapter starts from the free poetry, the metrical poetry and the symbolist poetry in The Poetry Collection by Zhu Ziqing, studies its poetic view of“progress",and explores its value in the history of Chinese new poetry.
