The Criticism Thoughts Of China New Literature Collection's Preface

As a great literature selection, China New Literature Collection differs from other literary selection, for it not only has given a conclusion to the China's new creations from May Fourth Movement by a sort of main four styles on novel, prose, poem, and drama, but also given a field to theoretical essays to conclude every phrases' theory, furthermore, it presents a detail preface to illustrate the characteristic for the writings in each period, which is actually a history of criticism. The Dissertation is to give a sketch pectination of the criticism articles on the basis of the literary thoughts from the collection in order to inspire the new development of new literature in this new century.The whole dissertation is composed of three parts, which can be further divided into five chapters. The first part: Introduction. It mainly focuses on introducing and analyzing the forming and origin of the Collection, the historical period, the feature of compiling, etc, as well as evaluating how the Collection and the introduction affect the Chinese literature research and criticizing. The second part: the major content of this thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter, the Multiple Understanding of the "Introduction" on "the New Literature", which means explaining the reasons why "the new literature " is "new", and witnessing the multiple understanding on the Chinese "new literature" and the continuous improvement of the new literature during its development by analyzing the relationship between "the new literature" and modernity, and popularization, and nationalism. The second chapter, the Main Literary Critical Idea of the "Introduction", which is the most important part in this thesis. In this part, we can find the obvious characteristics of the Chinese new literature and the difficult experience during its development and use this experience and critical idea to serve the new century literature by analyzing the literary function, historical, stylistic, linguistic view, and "the ideology through literary and arts", which profoundly influenced new China's realism and its debate. The third chapter, "the Introduction" and the New Generation of "Cultural Intellectuals' Criticizing", discusses that an intellectuals community has actually formed by chance because the selected authors were famous and successful at that time. Therefore, a new generation of literature classics has been presented under the system of the new literary selections and the new criticizing approach. The third part, that is to say, further study: Questions and Shortages of the Criticizing from the Selection Introduction, The thesis finds that the Selection Introduction suppresses female authors' points of view and the traditional criticizing essays are "absent" when facing the various western literary theories. Since this thesis is only the first step research, it may contain other problems that have not been found.
