| The development of economic globalization has witnessed increasing exchanges between countries in culture, commerce, politics and military affairs.China encourages the introduction of foreign advanced medical technology, strengthens cooperation and exchanges of domestic and foreign medical technology, and draws on and learns from advanced medical research results from abroad. These changes have also led to the continuous development of medical translation and made the research team grow all the time.It is for this reason that medical translation has attracted more and more attention in recent years, and many experts and scholars have started to invest and study in this area. This report discusses the translation of Modifiable Determinants of Newborn Macrosomia and Birth Complications. This report briefly introduces the source and content of translation materials, and analyzes the textual features of the materials.Functional Equivalence Theory(FET)is chosen as the guiding theory.According to FET,what is important is the functional equivalence rather than the complete correspondence between the two languages, and the translation should be close to the original in terms of meaning and style.Based on the principles of closeness, naturalness and equivalence, this report,by choosing examples from the word level, sentence level and the discourse level, applies appropriate translation strategies and such translation methods as division, amplification and other suitable translation methods. It is proved that it is feasible to apply Functional Equivalence Theory to practice in translation and the quality of the translated work is more readable.Through this medical practice translation, the author realizes that to be a good translator one needs to possess wide variety of knowledge, and hopes that this report will provide reference and research material for medical translation. |
