The Study Of Responsibility Ethics Of Mitcham

Modern technology has brought great influence to the whole world in both time and space.Different scholars have different views on how to avoid technological risks.What enlightenment does Mitcham's responsibility ethics,as a technology optimist,have for the development of technology and engineering in China? In view of this,it is urgent to make a systematic and comprehensive arrangement and analysis of Mitcham's ethics of responsibility,and to criticize and improve this idea in combination with China's specific practice.This paper first introduces the theoretical background of Mitcham's responsibility ethics.And it is divided into four aspects,namely,influenced by Hans Jonas,influenced by the social constructivist school,influenced by Andrew Feenberg' "choose modernity" and the influence of Mitchum's own concept of technology as an activity.Then,it introduces the content of Mitcham's responsibility ethics in detail,which emphasizes the reasonable distribution of responsibility within the responsibility community.This distribution process is jointly participated by six heterogeneous members of the responsibility community,namely,policy makers,scientists,engineers or technicians,humanities scholars and the public.They have equal status in technology decision-making,and after some consultation and communication,they finally reach a consensus on technology development,that is,what kind of technology to develop,how to develop technology and who will share the benefits of technology.Finally,Micham's responsibility ethics was evaluated,pointing out its significance to the development of science and technology in China and the future development direction.
