Research On The Construction Of Social Responsibility Ethics In Modern China

In the 21st century,more and more social crisis events have proved that,the uncertain social risks,which are not controlled by human beings,force humans to be in a position where everyone is closely connected with the risks and has skin in the game.Under the circumstances,all humans have to rise to the challenge of survival.When it comes to sources of the social risk,both natural disasters and man-made calamities are included.Apart from natural disasters such as earthquakes,tsunamis and volcanic eruptions,human factors contribute more to the social risk that poses a grave threat to the survival and development of human society.To be specific,the social risks caused by human factors are full of destructive power,high uncertainty and difficulty in prevention and control,almost existing in all the social aspects and labour divisions.What is worse,accompanied by the refinement of the technical division of labour and economic globalization,the risks are also spread to the whole world.Accordingly,humans inevitably get involved.With the pace of China's modernization,unprecedented global social risks have emerged.Some of them directly threaten the survival of individuals,while some negatively affect the improvement of people's happiness.Nowadays,all kinds of public crises constantly happen in Chinese society.Chinese people come to reflect themselves and explore the way out,hoping to help themselves out of the plight of human survival and happiness problems by establishing the responsibility ethic theory.The ethical dilemma caused by the social risk shows us that,in the stage when socialism with Chinese characteristics has crossed the threshold into a new era,the survival,the development,and the better and happier life for people are in more urgent need of research on the construction of responsibility ethics than ever before.With a necessary breakthrough in the traditional theory,a new research paradigm for the ethics of responsibility need establishing after the solution to the theoretical dilemma where the traditional theory is incapable of handling the new demands and challenges of the social risk.The way to eliminate the social risk in modern society with ethics of responsibility could be interpreted as follows.Firstly,from the perspective of-social economy and politics,the risk is supposed to be eliminated by the realization of full harmonization between individual interests and collective interests,which is under the guidance of the responsibility ethic theory.Secondly,the predicaments,such as the lack of ideas about ethics of responsibility,the absence of responsibility subjects,and the lacking responsibility for consequences,need to be coped with from the standpoint of science and culture.Thirdly,from the subjective knowledge to the objective practice,the subjects of responsibility are destined to show ethical concern.More specifically,they are inclined to attach much importance to solving human living dilemma,improving the morality,nourishing the soul,and actively assuming social responsibility.Last but not least,research on the construction of ethics of responsibility in modern China provides the way out of the social risk with a broader social background and a stronger theoretical foundation,expanding the the responsibility ethic theory and its application fields.Adopting the research paradigm of the system ethics,this paper takes Marxist Humanism as the value core.It aims to have insight into the difference between the concepts of responsibility and ethics of responsibility,and in the article,the definition of roles and responsibilities,the transformation of consciousness of responsibility,the re-establishment of the responsibility ethic principle,and the clarification of the relationship between the subject and the object of ethics of responsibility,are all indispensable in establishing the responsibility ethic theory in modern China which considers the role identity as the logical starting point.From the logical point of view of responsibility ethics,the researchers attempt to study Marxist classics to analyze realistic problems with prudence and objectivity,and to explore the scope of the responsibility ethic theory.The ethics of responsibility is not only a branch of applied ethics,and is not restricted by the standard of individual professional ethics at the micro level.More exactly,based on normative ethics,it is a new research field where Virtue Theory is considered an important perspective.Moreover,by classifying and summarizing the views of responsibility ethics among Chinese and western scholars,the paper seeks the invaluable resources that can be absorbed critically or passed on in the process of establishing the responsibility ethic theory in modern China,thus providing the necessary theoretical basis and the practical path for the cultivation of responsible citizens,responsible government and responsible society.The paper consists of three parts,including the introduction,the body part and the conclusion.The introductory part mainly expounds the basis and significance of the topic,in which ethical perplexities caused by the social risk and the development of Marxist responsibility ethics are featured.There are six chapters in the body part.The first chapter lies in clarifying what is responsibility.First of all,the general concept of "responsibility" is introduced from the perspective of etymology and linguistics.Secondly,the author analyzes the subject,object and content of responsibility under the guidance of Marxist Humanism.Thirdly,the comparative analysis of the concepts of“responsibility and obligations”and“responsibility and rights”emphasizes that responsibility is characterized by the nature of presupposition,integrity and punitiveness.The relationship between responsibility and ethics of responsibility especially matters in the second chapter.What is more,comprehensively discussing the connotation of ethics of responsibility,the author also endeavor to offer deep and thorough consideration and analysis from different perspectives of different theoretical basis.Starting from the theoretical origin of responsibility ethics,the third and fourth chapters demonstrate the outline of the views of responsibility ethics among Chinese and western scholars,and have systematically theoretical achievements at a preliminary stage.The achievements lay the valuable foundation for this research.Focused on the reality from the theoretical perspective of responsibility ethics,the fifth chapter mainly explores the realistic dilemma,value pursuit,and practical significance in establishing ethics of responsibility in modern China.This chapter again highlights the theoretical and practical significance of the construction of responsibility ethics when seeking the solution for the current dilemma of human survival.In the sixth chapter of the body part,considering the principles that advocate the socialist core values such as prosperity,freedom,equality,impartiality,legislation and integrity,the author sets goals for the construction of responsibility ethics,and particularly elaborates its ways to achieve,with multiple subjects and the cultivation of responsible citizens taken into consideration.In conclusion,the construction of responsibility ethics cannot be postponed any longer in the new era when socialism with Chinese characteristics has embarked on a new journey.More researches on ethics of responsibility meet the needs of the times and of the elimination of social risks and the dilemma of human survival,which are also essential for cultivating people's sense of responsibility.
