21st century is the information age and the era of big data.The network has integrated into all aspects of social life.When people enjoy the convenience brought by the Internet,they ignore the threats it has posed to their privacy.In recent years,a series of network security issues such as personal information disclosure and network fraud have repeatedly reminded people of learning to protect personal privacy.In this context,the translator decides to translate the book: The Art of Invisibility: The World’s Most Famous Hacker Teaches You How to Be Safe in the Age of Big Brother and Big Data.This book is written by Kevin Mitnick,one of the most famous computer hackers in the world.With his own experiences,Kevin Mitnick uses a large number of true stories and practical measures to tell people that they should protect personal information and how to protect it.Based on the E-C translation practice of cybersecurity texts,this translation report firstly analyzes the language features,the style and translation difficulties of the text in detail,and then with the Eco-translatology theory of Professor Hu Gengshen as the guidance,the translator adopts the three-dimensional transformation method—language dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension to explore the translation strategies of cybersecurity texts.The language dimension transformation refers to the translator’s adaptation and selection of different language forms between the source language and the target language;cultural dimensiontransformation requires the translator to pay attention to the expression and transmission of different cultural connotations in the translation so as to avoid leading to misunderstanding for the target readers;the communicative dimension transformation means that the translator should focus on achieving the communication intention of the original text.Therefore,according to the differences of language forms and cultural expressions between Chinese and English,conversion and division are applied to achieve the transformation in language dimension;in cultural dimension,literal translation and free translation are adopted to translate the cultural words;annotation and amplification are used to realize the communicative intention of the original text.With many cases and specific analysis,this translation report proves that it’s feasible to choose Eco-translatology to guide the translation of cybersecurity texts.In conclusion,the translation report seeks to promote people’s awareness of cybersecurity protection and provide some suggestions and references for scholars who want to study the application of Eco-translatology and translators who will engage in network security text translation.
