A Comparative Study On The Compilation Of Onomatopoeia In Modern Chinese Dictionary And Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary

In this paper,the onomatopoeic words clearly marked拟声in dictionaries are the object of study,selecting the 7th edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary and the 3rd edition of Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary as research materials.Through the methods of statistics and word frequency investigation,this paper makes a comparative study of onomatopoeia words in the two dictionaries in terms of entries included,paraphrases and examples,and makes an analysis of their differences.This paper are composed of four parts.The first part is the introduction.Simply introduces the background and significance of this study,summarizes the research status of predecessors,and the research object,content,method and innovation of this paper are described.The second part is the comparison of onomatopoeia entries included.Based on the statistics of 234 onomatopoeic words in Modern Chinese Dictionary,246 onomatopoeic words in Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary and 206 onomatopoeic words in two dictionaries,this paper makes a concrete analysis from two aspects:onomatopoeia in two dictionaries and onomatopoeia in one dictionary.Finally,the differences of the two dictionaries on the processing of the same word with different forms are explained in the summary.The third part is the comparison of onomatopoeia interpretation.It includes the comparison of the difference in the number of meanings,stylistic style,explanatory prompt“adjective” and “simulation”,and the comparison of the way in which the explanatory sentences are constructed in the two dictionaries.Secondly,the explanatory content is discussed in detail from five aspects:simulation object,sentence concretization,linguistic accuracy,use of parentheses and difference of extended meaning.At last,the problems of the interpretation in the two dictionaries are pointed out,such as the degree of interpretation is not precise enough,and the listed interpretations are not representative.The fourth part is the comparison of onomatopoeia examples.Firstly,the number of matches,the corresponding relationship between matches and definitions,and the difference of identifiers are observed and compared.Secondly,the content of the example is discussed from four aspects:the matching degree with the interpretation,the examples of written words,the conciseness of the examples and the use of parentheses.Finally,the problems of the examplesin the two dictionaries are pointed out,such as the language of examples is obscure and difficult to understand,and the examples are incomplete.The concluding part reviews the main content of the whole article and summarizes its shortcomings.
