Research On The Naoge Of The Ming Dynasty

As one sort of folk-song-styled poems of Han Dynasty,Naoge has attracted much attention over time because of its dual identities of military music and Yuefu poems.Numerous studies has been carried out about "Eighteen Naoge in the Han Dynasty" as well as Naoge from the Han to the Tang.However,due to the lack of systematic organization of historic materials,Naoge from the Song to the Ming Dynasty remain largely unexplored.Since the founding of the Ming by Hongwu Emperor,ritual and music have flourished.Under the guidance of national rituals and retro-style thoughts,there was another climax in the history of Naoge in the Ming Dynasty.Considering the creation of Naoge in the Ming,it is closely related to the founding of the Dynasty and important battles between countries.From the carols for the retro Yuefu,Naoge in the Ming was closely connected with the retro-style thoughts of the Ming Dynasty,which might indicate some historical value and literary worth.In view of the fact that currently there is no systematic arrangement of Naoge in the Ming Dynasty,under the existing conditions,this paper tried to investigate the Ming Naoge as much as possible by using the resources such as the library and the database,and form a relatively complete system through sentence punctuation and proofreading.Through the initial searching of the Ming Yuefu and poems of literati,this paper collected a total of 626 songs from the Yuan and the Ming,involving 52 poets,46 of whom were from the Ming Dynasty.In addition to poets with unique style such as Wuzhong Si Zi,Chaling Poetry,Qi Zi,Yunjian Sanzi,and several social groups,other high-ranking literati such as Song Yi,Gao Qi,Liu Ji,Yang Shiqi,and Cheng Minzheng were also included.Secondly,on the basis of the existing collected literature,combined with the history of the Ming Dynasty and the retro trend of literature,this paper examined the history of the Ming dynasty's creation,the content and rhyme of Naoge and the sentence pattern through the method of literature examination.On the basis of grasping the overall situation,the Ming Naoge were well staged;and the representative figures were selected.From the two aspects of the national Naoge and the Yuefu Naoge,the development of the Ming dynasty history was outlined as detailed as possible.In addition,important phenomena or immature findings that were unable to find a place in the history of the development of Naoge,such as the creation of Naoge,the discussion of miscellaneous vocal,the style of Naoge,the elegance and application situation,were listed systematically in the following series and conducted as a monographical study.
