Nowadays,under the trend of globalization,international exchanges and integration are deepening day by day.China’s comprehensive national strength and international influence have been greatly enhanced.Meanwhile,as the soft power of the country,culture and education are playing decisive roles in promoting the overall national strength and shaping a powerful international image.In order to go with the tide of the times,several schools in China seize the opportunity of vigorous development of society and strengthen extensive publicity for themselves to seek cultural exchanges and cooperation in wider fields.A group of high school teachers from the United States came to visit Zhongde Suning Experimental School in May,2018.The directors of Zhongde Suning Experimental School and representative teachers have conducted in-depth exchanges with the foreign educational delegation.The author served as one of the interpreters for the conference and was asked to be in charge of consecutive interpreting during the meeting.This report is divided into four parts: Chapter 1 introduces the task description,including the background,character,client’s requirements and the significance of this interpretation practice;Chapter 2 describes the whole interpreting process,covering pre-interpreting preparation,interpreting process and post-interpreting summary;Chapter 3 demonstrates the translation theory and case study of difficulties during interpreting.The author mainly adopted Skopos Theory to describe the whole process of interpreting.Guided by this theory,the author analyzed this practice,including the interpreting of some words and sentences under different cultural backgrounds between English and Chinese.The author elaborated her own treatments on these problems.Meanwhile,the author also analyzed some cases of misinterpretation;Chapter 4 directs the summary of this practice,covering the author’s understanding and lessons on this interpreting practice,hoping to have some influence on the author’s future study.This report carries significance in three aspects.Firstly,based on the real conference interpreting practice,it has a practical value to analyze the problems that may arise in conference interpreting.Secondly,the study of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools hasgreat practical significance with an increasing number of schools joining the upsurge of it.Thirdly,it is just the time for Zhongde School to seek for cooperation in wider fields,therefore,in objectively speaking,this report has played a positive role in promoting the publicity work of Zhongde School.
