A Study On English Learning Interest Of Primary School Students

Since 2001,China has begun to implement the English curriculum for primary schools,and the interest in primary school students' English learning has become more and more concerned.This paper takes the Ankang Gaoxin No.1 Primary School as an example to investigate the current situation of English learning interest of students in grades 3 to grade 6.The aim is to try to study the current situation and existing problems of English learning interest of primary school students,and help teachers find out some methods and suggestions in a targeted manner that can improve the interest of primary school students in English learning.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign achievements,this paper developed a set of questionnaires for students,through questionnaires and factor analysis methods,this paper used spss data analysis software to have a research on current situation of r primary school students' interest in English learningBy randomly selecting 400 students from the third to sixth grades of Ankang Gaoxin No.1 Primary School,they were divided into five factors(function,expansion,knowledge,pleasure,input and application)and three dimensions(gender,grade and Enlightenment English).It is concluded that the English learning interest scores of the third to sixth grade students in Ankang Gaoxin No.1 Primary School are all above three points,which indicates that students have general interest in English learning.The development of various factors in primary school English learning interest is relatively balanced,with the highest score in the functional part and the lowest in the pleasant part.Students in the third and fourth grades have higher interest in English than in the fifth and sixth grades;girls' interest in English learning is higher than that in boys;English students with enlightenment English experience are more interested in English learning than those without English enlightenment.Finally,this study puts forward some suggestions for the current situation of primary school English learning interest,for the reference of primary school English teaching,the author will continue to study in the future work and study,improve teaching methods,and strive to improve the English learning interest of primary school students.
