| Cameroon is a country located in Central Africa.The capital is Yaoundé.Cameroon and China have a long history in terms of cooperation.So many Chinese recently do business in Cameroon and more and more Cameroonian Students move to China as their land of foreign studies and land of business.Although Cameroon has more than 200 native languages and 2 national languages of communication: French and English,the Government also finds it necessary to learn Chinese.This paper discusses and analyzes the present situation of Chinese teaching in Cameroon Confucius Institute from its creation up to now by doing investigation,questionnaires and interviews of Confucius Institutes in the University of Yaoundé2branch of Douala conducted by the author’s teaching at Confucius institute.This paper first introduces the main reality of Confucius in Cameroon and its general development of Chinese Teaching,and then mainly focuses on the learners from Confucius Institute,curriculum,teaching materials,lecturer resources and cultural activities to analyze the development of Confucius Institute with multi-angles and also through the analysis,we have come to realize that a lot of people learn and practice Chinese and are relatively strong in that.The author hereby certifies that the main research source of this thesis about the development of the Chinese language teaching in Cameroon and the Confucius Institute of the University of Yaoundé2 branch of Douala,in this paper is true and accurate as it is sourced from field investigation conducted by the author.It is expected that this paper and its achievements can contribute to the sustainable development of the management and governance of Confucius Institutes,and fill the gap of the development of teaching Chinese language in Cameroon. |
